Aims and Scope
Aims
Scientific Experiences in Applied Technology (SEAT) aims to publish and disseminate scientific knowledge on the design, development, performance evaluation, and implementation of applied technology and engineering systems. The journal documents how scientific and engineering principles are translated into working prototypes, machines, and technical systems that solve practical problems in industry, SMEs, and local production settings. It prioritizes work supported by sound engineering analysis, quantitative performance data, and critical evaluation of technical limitations and lessons learned.
Scope
SEAT publishes original research articles, prototype development studies, and technology implementation case studies in applied science, engineering, and technology, with particular emphasis on the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design: design, fabrication, and performance testing of machines and mechanical systems, including appropriate technology, food and agro-processing machinery, production equipment for SMEs, mechanisms and power transmission, structural analysis, and manufacturing processes.
- Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Technology: vehicle design and modification, conversion of internal-combustion vehicles to electric propulsion, powertrain and transmission systems, alternative fuels, vehicle performance, and energy consumption analysis.
- Energy Conversion and Renewable Energy Technology: biogas and bioenergy systems, small-scale power generation, engine and generator systems, waste-to-energy conversion, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technology for decentralized applications.
- Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation Systems: control system design, engine and fuel management, power quality and voltage regulation, embedded systems, automation, sensors, data acquisition, and IoT-based monitoring of engineering systems.
- Engineering Technology Implementation and Transfer: field testing and validation of prototypes, advancement of technology readiness level (TRL), scale-up, and transfer of engineering solutions from the laboratory to industrial or real operating environments.
SEAT prioritizes manuscripts that clearly present the engineering problem, technical rationale, design and development process, testing methodology, quantitative performance results, and a critical discussion of limitations and implications for further development or wider application.
