Abstract

Every individual needs a vehicle for mobility and transportation of goods. However, continuous exposure to sunlight can damage the exterior and interior of the vehicle. To solve this problem, a portable car cover has been designed to protect the vehicle from the impact of ultraviolet radiation and other external factors.  The design process of this tool includes several stages, from determining the design, calculating the technical specifications of the motor, and analyzing the strength of the frame, to the selection and assembly of the main components and supports that are optimally integrated. The evaluation of the performance of the car cover was carried out through a trial of the open-close mechanism. The test results show that this device can protect the vehicle from changes in weather and wind loads while maintaining effectiveness and functionality as needed. Based on the test results, the developed portable cover can operate well, opening and closing within 40 seconds according to the target, with an overall length of up to 4 meters. The system works using a semi-automatic controller to ensure efficient and easy-to-use performance.
